Frequently asked questions

Is there a site like Product Hunt where I can launch my SaaS for free?

Yes. ProductPerch is a free product launch platform with a fixed daily schedule: 12 free launch slots every UTC day, 3 of them kept for open-source projects. You submit a URL, our AI drafts the listing, you edit it, and the gateway assigns the next open free day. Upvotes from signed-in members decide the daily ranking.

Do I get a dofollow backlink from a free launch?

A free launch gets a dofollow link when our badge is verified on your site, when the project is verified open source (public GitHub repo with an OSI license), or when it finishes in the top 3 of its day. Otherwise the link is rel="nofollow". The rel on each product page always matches this rule, so you can check it in the page source.

How long is the wait for a free launch?

You see the date before you confirm. Free launches take the earliest day from tomorrow with a free slot left; the submit page and the calendar show how many free and open-source slots each day still has. There is no hidden queue of months.

Can paying get my product ranked higher?

No. Paid launches let you pick the date, skip the badge requirement and get more space on the homepage and in the digest, but the daily leaderboard is ordered by upvotes only. Every paid placement carries a Featured or Sponsored label.

How do you stop fake upvotes?

Voting needs a signed-in account, one vote per account per launch, and accounts younger than 10 minutes are flagged. You cannot upvote your own launch. Votes from batches of new accounts or a single network are removed before the day’s results are frozen, so the final ranking can differ from what you saw live.

Where can I launch an open-source project or GitHub repo?

Here. Add the GitHub URL when you submit: we read stars, license, language and last commit from the GitHub API and show them on your product page. Verified open-source projects can use the 3 daily open-source slots and get a dofollow link without placing a badge. Verified means the repo is public, not archived, has an OSI license and provably belongs to the product: the website is the repo itself, your github.io page, or the repo’s Website field (homepage) is set to your product’s domain. If it is not verified yet, set your repo’s Website field to your product’s domain; until then the listing shows Open source without the verified mark and follows the normal free rules.

What does the daily digest include?

Every day at 08:00 UTC subscribers get one email: Featured launches first, then paid launches as cards, every free launch as a one-line entry, and yesterday’s top 3. Signup is double opt-in and every email has a one-click unsubscribe.

What kind of products are not allowed?

We list software and digital products. We reject adult content, gambling, scams, crypto airdrops, follower or review selling, black-hat SEO services, malware, impersonation and listings whose description does not match the website. Rejected paid launches get their launches back automatically.

Do I need an account to upvote?

Yes. Upvoting, commenting and submitting need a free account; sign in with Google or an email code. Browsing does not.

Can I change my listing after submitting?

Yes, from your dashboard. If you change the text, the listing is reviewed again.

Can I move my launch date?

A paid launch can be moved once, at least 24 hours before its date, to any day with a paid slot left. Free launch dates are assigned; you can upgrade a free launch to a paid one to pick the date.

How do refunds work?

Launches never expire. Rejected or cancelled launches are returned to your balance automatically, and unused launches bought in the last 14 days can be refunded by email.

Do you have an API or an MCP server?

Not yet. If you need one, tell us at contact@productperch.com.
