Privacy Policy
ProductPerch operates ProductPerch at productperch.com. This page describes what the site actually does with data. Our backend (accounts, submissions, votes, payments, email) runs on a shared service hosted in the Netherlands (EU) at api.hyperchaos.dev.
Accounts and sign-in
You can browse without an account. To upvote, comment or submit, you sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. With Google we receive your email address, name and profile picture from Google; we never see your Google password. Google’s sign-in prompt (One Tap) is loaded from accounts.google.com and Google may process data about it under its own privacy policy. We store your email, a display name and your session tokens; your browser keeps the session in local storage on this device until you sign out.
Where new members come from
To learn which channels bring new members, your browser stores how you first arrived (the landing page path, the website or app that linked to us, campaign or referral tags in the link, and the name of the ad network when you arrive from an ad, never the ad click ID itself) for up to 90 days. It is sent to us only when you sign in or create an account, and is saved once, with a new account. We do not keep full referring URLs, search terms or anything after a # sign. We also keep a short activity history for each account (sign-up, daily sign-in, purchases with the template and the link or email that led to each one, and each generation's result). With it we store the country-level location that our network provider derives from the request, the browser language, the device type and, when you open the site inside an app such as TikTok or Instagram, that app's name; we do not store your IP address.
Submissions and AI processing
When you ask for an AI autofill, our server fetches the public web page at the URL you enter (and its /llms.txt if present), and sends the page’s title, meta tags and the first part of its visible text to a language model provider to draft your listing. We read public data about a linked GitHub repository from the GitHub API. Listings, including your maker profile, are public once a launch is approved. We check your site for our badge before and after your launch by fetching your homepage.
Uploads
Logos and screenshots go from your browser straight to our object storage (Cloudflare R2) and are served publicly on your product page. Only upload images you have the right to use.
Votes, comments and reports
We record which account upvoted which launch, with the time and network information needed to detect fake votes. Comments are public with your display name. Vote records are kept as long as the launch exists; network data used for fraud checks is kept no longer than 90 days.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the daily digest we store your email address, the page where you subscribed and the confirmation status. We send one confirmation email; you are only subscribed after you click it (double opt-in). Each digest has a one-click unsubscribe link. Emails are sent from no-reply@productperch.com; replies go to contact@productperch.com. We do not sell or share the list.
Payments
Launch packs are paid through Stripe on a Stripe-hosted page. We never receive your card number; we store the order, amount and status.
Analytics
We count visits with a self-hosted, cookie-free analytics tool (Umami). For each page view it receives the page path, the referring page, your browser and device type, screen size, language and country-level location, and, like any server, your IP address. It does not set cookies, does not follow you across other sites, never receives the part of an address after a # sign, only runs on this site’s own domain, and respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting.
Contact form and email
Messages sent through the contact form or to contact@productperch.com are stored in our support inbox and used only to reply.
Service providers
Our footer includes reciprocal directory badges. Badge images are loaded from the named directory’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser information when the image loads. We send no account details and suppress the referring page address for these image requests. Clicking a badge opens that directory under its own privacy policy.
Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, email routing and file storage), our backend host in the Netherlands, Google (sign-in), Stripe (payments), the language model provider used for autofill and moderation, and GitHub (public repository data).
Retention and your rights
Account data is kept while your account exists. You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by writing to contact@productperch.com from your account email; we answer within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your profile, unpublishes your listings and anonymises your comments.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We update this page when our practices change and show the date above.
