What is Dungeon Sookuma?

Dungeon Sookuma is a traditional turn-based roguelike about descending into an ever-changing dream dungeon.
Every step takes a turn, sound travels through corridors to alert monsters, and vision ends at the edge of torchlight.

You combine 14 Sookuma lineages and 19 classes to create a build for each run.
Potions, scrolls, and wands reshuffle between dreams, revealing their true nature through discovery, reading, and use.

Nineteen gods offer distinct covenants and powers at their altars.
Stealing the Dream Crystal at the bottom awakens the dungeon, forcing you to fight all the way back to the first floor.

A free playable demo is available now on Windows and macOS.
The full game is coming soon to Steam for Windows.

Pre-generated AI content was created during development, and the game does not connect to any AI services during play.
Full details on AI-generated assets, agent-written code, and translations are listed in the FAQ below.

Dungeon Sookuma FAQ

On what platforms can I play Dungeon Sookuma, and is there a demo available?

A free playable demo is available now on Steam for Windows and macOS. The full game is coming soon to Steam for Windows.

What is the core gameplay loop and objective of Dungeon Sookuma?

You descend through procedural dream floors, combining lineages and classes while managing sight, noise, and unidentified items. The objective is to steal the Dream Crystal from the depths. Taking the crystal awakens the entire dungeon, reversing your journey. You must fight your way back up through the floors you cleared to escape alive.

How were the pixel art and illustrations in Dungeon Sookuma created?

All in-game pixel art was drawn pixel by pixel by AI coding and writing agents placing pixels under human direction, not by image-generation models. Boss and named-monster designs referenced AI-generated concept images. All large illustrations and the app icon were generated with an AI image model and fitted to the pixel grid and palette. These include title screens, splash card, character portraits, covenant cut-ins, god portraits, card backs, endings, and credits.

How were the audio and video assets in the game produced?

All background music was generated with an AI music tool. Every sound-effect file and monster cry was generated with an AI sound-effect tool, while remaining sounds are synthesized by code that AI wrote. There is no voice acting and no AI voice inside the game itself. The animated title backgrounds derive their motion from AI video generation, and the optional menu intro is an AI-generated video.

What parts of the code and text used AI, and does AI run during gameplay?

Most in-game text was written or drafted by AI, and translations for English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese were performed by AI. Most code was written by AI coding agents that the human developers directed and reviewed. Plants Game, a husband-and-wife indie team of two in South Korea, directed development, approved every result, and playtested. Nothing is generated by AI during play, and the game does not connect to any AI services.

Were AI tools used to create marketing materials and the store trailer?

Capsule and key art were created from AI-generated title art. Event artwork and most achievement icons come from AI-generated art, while store text, event announcements, and patch notes were drafted with AI. The store trailer features real gameplay footage with AI-generated music. The trailer also includes an AI voice narration reading an AI-written script.
