What is Local Music Organizer?
Local Music Organizer is a native macOS application for organizing, maintaining, analyzing, converting, and playing local music collections. It works with Apple's Music.app libraries and standalone audio files, helping users manage collections built over many years.
Library tools identify missing files, duplicate tracks, incomplete albums, inconsistent metadata, and playlist relationships. A persistent SQLite index makes large libraries easier to search, inspect, and maintain.
File Maintenance provides detailed inspection of audio tags, filenames, permissions, and Finder metadata. Users can review and selectively remove unwanted encoder, downloader, and promotional information, with verification and safeguards for supported operations.
Audio Inspector analyzes codecs, bitrates, sample rates, bit depth, and spectral characteristics. Audio Authenticity Analyzer identifies potential lossy-to-lossless conversions and suspicious upscaling. Real-time A/B comparison allows users to compare different recordings with optional loudness matching without modifying the original files.
Repair / Convert supports common and specialist formats, including FLAC, ALAC, MP3, WAV, APE, TAK, WavPack, CUE albums, DSD, and SACD ISO.
Shuffle Builder creates more varied playlists by separating repeated artists, related musical projects, and similar tracks. Three built-in players — ORIGINAL, CLASSIC, and GLASS — provide local playback with real-time spectrum visualization.
All analysis and audio processing happen locally on the Mac. The application supports macOS 14 and later on Apple Silicon and Intel.
A full-featured 3-day trial is included, followed by a one-time $29.99 purchase. No subscription or recurring charges.
